Dr. Doan first gravitated towards dentistry because he found the dentist-patient relationship appealing, and the art and science of restoring oral health fascinating. A passion for surgery ignited during his studies at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and he went on to graduate in the top of his class, both academically and clinically. He then developed his skills as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, where he received rigorous training in all aspects of the specialty across several hospital systems to include Emory Healthcare, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Grady Memorial Hospital–the premier Level I trauma center in the state. He has also received hands-on training with ENT, Plastic, and Oculoplastic surgeons, which he now incorporates into his own procedures. His interests as a surgeon continue to be anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, oral pathology, reconstructive surgery, and maxillofacial trauma.
Dr. Doan was born and raised in San Diego, CA, and is excited to return to Southern California after completing his extensive training. Outside of surgery, he enjoys being at the beach and in the mountains, cars and racing, and trying new restaurants.
